Song

ABOUT

Song Hà, meaning “twin rivers” in Vietnamese, is a director and storyteller chasing infinity—both within us and the world around us. Rooted in nature, she approaches every project as a way to help us remember just how vast and wild we really are.

An award-winning poet, Song Ha’s artistic sensibility enriches their filmmaking. Her directorial debut, The Songs of Water, is set to premiere at NewFest 2024, the New York LGBTQ Film Festival. With her second film in post-production, they continue to push the boundaries of storytelling by bridging art with activism and venturing into new realms of narrative filmmaking, including programs with Netflix and the Transgender Film Center.

Having led national campaigns that drive both policy and cultural change, Song Ha’s journey is one of learning from and embodying the essence of the communities she serves. From speaking at Harvard and Stanford to building movements that spur transformation within transgender and refugee communities, her journey is one of weaving together poetry, filmmaking, and on-the-ground community work to spark change within transgender communities and beyond.
